On a recent trip to New York, I always find myself falling in love for the first time all over again with this city! There is always so much to discover, eat and see. So, let’s start with the MOREVUE!
Mo Hotel Revue: I stayed at the Grand Hyatt New York, you know I am starting to think that me and the Grand Hyatt have some kind of relationship. Hyatt has been my choice of hotels for the last 3 trips (@GrandHyattBahamar, @HyattZivaLosCabos and @GrandHyattNYC) anyone see a trend? May-be! Follow @mo.review on Instagram and stay tuned….
The Grand Hyatt NYC was nothing but Grand. Centrally located on 42nd it was an easy walk to 5th Ave., Park Ave. and Broadway. The rooms were superb and cozy, especially in the thick of NYC’s winter. Grand Hyatt has an ambiance about their hotels and Grand Hyatt NYC was majestic. It was traditional yet modernly NYC.
Mo Food Revue:
Whoa Mama, Wagamama … On a cold NYC day this place hit the spot! From the favorable ramen bowls to the bang bang cauliflower and the pork belly boa’s. Wagamama has the perfect combinations to fill your belly, keep you warm and to refuel you with enough energy to walk 40 NYC blocks! I ordered their chili chicken ramen, which was rich in flavor and spice, the chicken was ever so tender, and the ramen was perfectly cooked, I just couldn’t stop myself, until it was gone!
Brunch @UPTOWN…. Let me say this, if you want to eat here, make reservations NOW. Being a southern woman, this place knows how to treat your belly. Did we have reservations NO, did we try, YES, did we conquer the curiosity of our appetites, uh YEAH. We made a plan, carried it through and it was worth it. If you want to eat at UPLAND either make reservations or get there early and hope for the best. Luckily… plan B worked! We scored a window seat with the most pleasant view of the sun reflecting a cold NYC street on a sunny Sunday morning… OHH right the food. OMG what a treat. The food was nothing less than amazing. Our brunch selections included mouthwatering pancakes, topped with fresh berries, paired with apple wood bacon, a warm latte, fresh squeezed orange juice and a fried chicken sandwich with crispy potatoes topped with dill and jalapeno aioli. Don’t worry this was a sharing kind of brunch! The food was excellent, recommendable and apparently the place to be on a Sunday morning, considering the wait was 45 mins. So, plan ahead or get up early, either way UPLAND should not be missed.
Dinner with a little Spice @ Spice Symphony…Lastly, another great choice was Spice Symphony, which has two locations one on Lexington between 31st and 32nd and one on E 50th St. This restaurant really does food well. Its cozy atmosphere and the aroma of Indian spices makes your mouth water. The food was excellent, from the Garlic NAAN, traditional Samosas to the Tandoori shrimp, the food speaks for its self. The staff were professional, the owner was friendly, and we felt welcomed like we were regulars, you really should add Spiced Symphony to your foodie list.
